Islamic Republic President Khatami's second term in office ended Tusday August 2, 2005
Tehran, Aug 2, IRNA-Mohammad Khatami's tenure as Iran's president ended , Tuesday August 2, 2005.
Khatami attended the Majlis session on Tuesday to outline the performance of his cabinet in the last year of the Third Development Plan.
Mahmood Ahmadinejad will take office as the new president as of Wednesday, August 3, 2005 after he is confirmed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ali Khamenei during a ceremony Wednesday, August 3, 2005.
Khatami became Iran's president in May 17, 1997 .
He elected for the 8th presidential elections on June 23, 2002 to start his second term in office as the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
