I just found out from Marco Werman (of NPR's The World) that the band 127 from Tehran, Iran are here and are registered in Austin, Texas to perform at the SXSW festival. Their showcase is today, Thursday, March 16 at 8 to 8:40 pm at the Carribeann Lights Bar on 6th Street. This is a very special opportunity to see an experimental rock underground band from Tehran anywhere in the world. Hope to see all who can make it there.

You can get in with a SXSW wristband or badge. You can also get in by paying a modest cover but only after the sxsw people have entered first and if space available.

Feminists demand equal rights always and everywhere. What is the aim of the feminists in Iran?

Their aim is to achieve the same advantages, the same power, the same rights within the society as those possessed now by their husbands, fathers and brothers. You know...  "behind every great man..."

We demand rights for every citizen of Iran, man and woman, but we are not prepared to forget that we are not only woman and citizens, but also mothers! And as mothers, as women who give birth to the future, we demand special concern for ourselves and our children, special protection from the society &  the Islamic government of Iran . The feminists are striving to acquire political rights in Iran.

For Persian women, political rights are simply a means allowing them to make their way more conveniently and more securely in a world founded on the exploitation of the working people.

There is too great a contradiction between the interests of the poor Iranian woman worker and the (MULLAH'S RICH LADIES), between the servant and her mistress... Iranian women & all (Mullahs, or slave owners). There are not and cannot be any points of contact, conciliation or convergence between them.

Sponsoring the International Women's Day by Persiancultures was the best way to honor the ones who fought for our rights as women in Iran & is to teach the next generation of women as our mothers taught us. That we are just as important than males and that we can be what ever we want to be even the first women president of Iran.

In a number of countries, women who have been raped are sometimes killed by their own families to preserve the family's honor. Honor killings have been reported in Iran. Rape also has been used under Islamic regime of Iran (specialy in prisons) as a weapon of Islamic Power. All they wanted was to voice their choice.The Persian women's movement in Iran & other contrys are growing, your efforts made it better for future.

Persian new year & 4 shanbe soori is coming. Let's not just dance over dead people of Iran this year, Lets talk about these hard situation & do something. enough of these happy hour Iranian organizations, at least this year. Ask them to do something for women's day (march 8th) if they realy like Iranian people. Lets live in real world with the real people.

I'm 29 years old & I hate politics but it's not about politics, Its about our homeland. please don't ignore our family & people in Iran any more.We need to spend some time thinking forward, how can we make this globe a better place to stay etc.. After all these happening in Iran Under God's government .. Religion is NOT the answer,

We, wide majority of peaceful Muslims, are not real Muslim, our background where just Muslim.We come from a country that has never even seen democracy and generally suffer from the stress of living in a strange society.

I feel that Iranian living in out of Iran love the western culture as much as they love Persian cultures, or they have come to the wrong place. Most of us are silent Iranian population. I Like Persiancultures organization because they Took a firm stand against the kind of government that lives in Iran and creeps into Europe & to the world and brings a bad name to all of us.

They brought forth an Iranian people that are peace-loving and adapting to the surrounding culture, and denounce bad interpretations of it in the world.

I am waiting to hear from second hand Muslims like myself, that they respect the freedom of speech clearly.  

I accept insults against my religion and mock-images, since they give me a chance to practice my humor, my character and perhaps, they even give me a chance to defend my religion with a non-provocative reaction…Also this mock is good for us in realizing that God does not live in the Quran (or the Bible or..) or in the religious traditions. God lives in the hearts of man, and the best way to refine the human heart is to show strength by showing weakness and accepting the reality that surrounds us. 

Let's wake up and have some faith in us, it’s a good feeling when you do something good, call & email to your friends & family everywhere specialy in Iran & ask them to help us to do something for Iran & Iranian. Let's make this happened,.. together we feel like flying in the sky of happiness, & we won’t be scared for our family or people in Iran to die soon. 

As you said the freedom of speech is Holy. Let's use it.

اگر شاگرد درس نخواني باشد که پنج سال است در کلاس هفتم مانده و هر سال او بزرگتر و هم کلاسي هايش کوچکتر ميشوند   و همه با تحقير به او نگاه ميکنند    و از آن بدتر هيچ يک با او دوست يگانه، به دليل اختلاف سن نميشود و از اون بدترتر،  ديگر هيچ راهي به دنياي هم کلاسان اولش ندارد،  همه رفته و مشغول الک کردن آردهاي خود هستند ؟

اين شاگرد اگر نداند که علتش کون گشادي است، هرگز از مدرسه فارغ التحصيل نخواهد شد والسلام.

ولي اگر بداند،  با خود ميگويد :

 - بابا بسه ديگه ؟ چه همه تحقير، چه همه تنهائي، چه همه حسرت  کون و پيزي کنم،.. بشينم دوسال يکي کنم برم بالا ، حالا اگرچه دير تر، ولي منم به کاروان زنده ها برسم

در مدرسه بزرگ زندگي ، درست در اين لحظه از تاريخ،  ما آن شاگرد تنبل - تنهاي - تحقير شده ى- از همه چيز عقب مانده هستيم که بايد - بايد - بايد ، تنها و تنها بر کون گشادي خود غلبه کنيم ..

تا اين مادرجند گان زمان چادرنشينان،  و ارزشهاي چادر نشيني آنان، باقي هستند و با ترياک و فحشا و رشوه و قاچاق و چپاول و دزدي،.. اين شاگرد بيچاره عقب افتاده را کون گشادانه چهار ميخ کرده اند اوضاع روز به روز وخيم تر ميشود .

 بساط انفعال اين قرمساق ها را درهم ريخته،  برخيزيد برخيزيد برخيزيد..  برخيزيد برخيزيد برخيزيد،   زمانش رسيده ...........
